Boenanza
Thanks to all present at Boenanza. It was really great. Didn’t expect too much of it but it was the bomb. A nice post-Southport party indeed. At first my hopes went deep down and I almost abandoned my plan to play some soul ‘n funk classics SP-wise, past to present. But from the moment Mary Jane Girls’ "All Night Long" boomed through the sound-system it all went bliss. We kept it soulful till the end. Played a lot of house, soul and even r’n b classics to great respons. Thanks y’all for that.
A big big big hug and kiss to Jonathan for playing the nicest House-tunes known to mankind and pushing me beyond my selfinflicted boundaries. Much respect for that. A big hug to the extended Southport-massive for dancing their ass off and introducing line-dancing to the masses. Big up to all dancing and showing respect. That includes the bouncer. I’ll tape you a mix like promised. Thanks to Bart and the Boelekewis dudes and dudettes for inviting me to play. A special thanks to Karl for driving me today and the last 3 days to here and everwhere.
Ben Westbeech’s "So Good Today" and Bill Withers’ "Lovely Day" rarely meant so much to me.
And I’m not a big fan of dj-booth’s on a stage but today I learned to appreciate that a little better. It should be all about the music not the dj’s. But. One word. Décolté’s. Makes it a lot easier to accept.
