The series of nice weekends keeps on lasting. Friday was good. Maybe not a big crowd but a good vibe, nice gigs and lots of drinking (which compensated the lack of people). Big up to Plekz, De Predikanten, Vega and Proceed. And to everybody helping and dancing.

Saturday was a bit hectic but once the music started at De Kriekelaar it was all good. Very nice performance by Soul:ID. They really impressed me. Checking the CD as we speak but live it all sounded very on point. Also impressed by the venue. De Kriekelaar is much more than what I expected. And that in a positive way. The second group, Mongoose, was good too. It took me a while to get into the slightly more rock edge but the funny front woman and the tight band convinced me. Realised mid concert I’d seen them before. I guess in Leuven. The party afterwards was, against all expectations, very nice. Had a blast. Big up to Chris and Soul:ID, Mongoose, Dieter, Kwak and everybody at De Kriekelaar.

Headed for the city centre after that. It was Resto Henri’s 4th birthday and seeing that I hadn’t missed a birthday party since way back in Le Gibbereir days I had to be there. First time we didn’t provide the music. Something I’m totally cool with, by the way. It’s not like I want to play at possible party. I like to party in front of the desks as much as behind them. Certainly when the music is good. And Saturday night it was. DJ Bob played some ace tunes. It was good to see so many friends I hadn’t met in a while. Always good times at Henri. Big up to Jurgen, Sven, David, Manu, Geert, Daan, Waldo and the rest of the crew. And I definitely will come and check the Côte â l’os one of these days.
