My wanderings through the world of SoundCloud have produced their first pleasant surprise. Discovering the music of Dutchmassive. I should probably have heard of him already because his online presence is one that puts ours to shame easily. But I didn’t. My bad. Because he’s making some of the nicest music I’ve stumbled upon in a while. Crossing borders between Hiphop and House like there are none, that’s what I like. Keeping it deep, raw and soulful. A bit Jazzy too. Check it out. Visiting all his sites alone will keep you busy for some time. You can score some free music on there, by the way. Enjoy.
I gotta say, When I released my 1st world wide release on Vinyl in 1998…. The Music Industry was a whole different ball game… Underground/Independent hiphop was not nearly as saturated. There were a few groups everyone knew about. COMPANY FLOW, NON FICTION (wrong spelling ahhahh) HIERO, LIVING LEGENDS, ANTICON, SWOLLEN MEMBERS, EQUILIBRIUM (CELPH TITLED, MAJIKMOST & DUTCHMASSIVE) …of COARSE there were alot more… but If you where releasing records on WAX… almost everyone who was a fan of indie hiphop knew who you were……..
When the whole myspace epidemic started, It was a wonderful networking tool… as the years passed, EVERY ONE WAS A RAPPER, PRODUCER, DJ….. IT is so hard to stand out and seperate yourself in the music world this day and age….
Hence the Reason, Instead of letting people just go to I-Tunes and pay to Download my newest album on Rawkus “CRUSH YOUR SYSTEM” I give it out for FREE, As I do with my Instrumental Project - “THE DRUMLOVE EP”…… ITS A NEW WORLD OUT THERE, one WHERE you had NO IDEA ABOUT DUTCHMASSIVE…….
