Power Thru pt. 3
I’ve been sleeping on this one a tad too long but I picked it up last week in the fantastic 12INCH record shop in Paris and it hasn’t left my decks since then. N.D.ATL is Kai Alcé’s new label with the letters standing for New York, Detroit and Atlanta as the 3 cities that have influenced his sounds. And the record is indeed the perfect symbiosis between the raw deepness of Motown and the subtle vocal perfection of the big apple. Great record. Kind of bummed that I missed the first release though.
And you might want to dig a little deeper into the man’s oeuvre. He has released on labels like KDJ’s Mahogani, FXHE and Track Mode. Check his myspace for some sounds.
