India

Filed under: Nightlife, Recommended - BLA @ 9:16 am

I’ve been listening to a lot of old Masters at Work stuff lately. When they were still raw. Many of the classics of that era have India vocals on them. “When You Touch Me”, “I Can’t Get No Sleep”, “Deep Inside” and “To Be In Love” . Nick Blow telling me about her performance at Southport Weekender a few years back got me dreaming, him saying they’ll do a set together at Soul Heaven in London at the end of this month got me fantasising even more. Would be swell to see them in May. Because I won’t make it to the London gig.

Really a bit bummed about that. I get goosebumps from thinking about her singing those first shoopshoopshoobeedoo’s at the start of “I Can’t Get No Sleep” alone. I think I would lose it completely from then on.
